On October 31, 2023, NanoShield New Materials Limited (hereinafter referred to as "NanoShield") undertook the transfer of two nano-hard coating achievements from the National Key Laboratory of High Performance Tools (Guangdong University of Technology). Yuan Ansu, Chairman of NUCTECH, and Liu Xin, President of the Industrial Technology Research and Development Institute of Guangdong University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "GUT"), signed a contract for the implementation of the transfer of the right valued at one million two hundred thousand yuan (¥1,200,000.00), as well as an agreement on the cooperation between the National Key Laboratory of High-performance Tools (GUT) and NUCTECH New Materials Co. In addition, NanoShield also donated a set of multi-functional high-performance coating equipments valued at RMB 5 million to GWU, which includes CET/SET Lateral-Through Glow Discharge Etching System, CVC Magnetically Controlled Vertical Arc Source System, and UFC Highlighted Arc Source System. Liu Qionghui, Director of the Office of Foreign Liaison and Alumni Affairs of GIT, accepted the donation on behalf of the Education Development Foundation of Guangdong University of Technology.

Based on the principle of "equal cooperation, resource sharing, mutual benefit and win-win, collaborative development", GWU and Naxi will establish a long-term and stable strategic cooperative relationship between industry, academia and research, to further strengthen the cooperative research of new coating technology and the cultivation of high-level talents, etc., so as to realize the complementary advantages and win-win cooperation, and to promote the development of the coating industry and the construction of the high-level talent team. Cooperative research and development of nano-composite coating tools and molds, TiSiN-based high-entropy alloy coating tools and other coating series of Chinese inventions, published in Thin Solid Films, Applied Surface Science and other magazines of high level of thesis, and realize the industrialization of the application; carried out the PVD nano-coating impact resistance, AlCrN-based PVD nano-coating impact resistance, AlCrN-based die casting mold coating, coating strength test, AlTiN-based nano-coated high-speed cutting tools for stainless steel and DLC superhard lubrication nano-coated cutting tools and other research work and industrialization.

At the beginning of the cooperation between GNU and Naxi, the training of high-level talents is regarded as an important content of the cooperation between industry, academia and research. Together they have trained more than ten masters and doctoral students with high professionalism in the field of coating. 2005-2009, they cooperated to train a doctor engaged in the research of nano-composite coated cutting tools, which should be the first doctor in the domestic mechanical disciplines to research PVD nano-composite coated cutting tools, and the doctor then stayed at NanoShield for many years, and has now become a well-known expert in the field of PVD coatings. Naxi (Zhejiang and Dongguan companies) also undertakes undergraduate graduation design internship, master's degree pre-entry internship and other personnel training work, by the students' praise.
