Material Properties of TiB\u2082 (Titanium Diboride) Coatings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TiB\u2082 (titanium diboride) is a quasi-metallic compound with a hexagonal crystal system structure, in which the boron atomic planes alternate with the titanium atomic planes in the crystal structure to form a unique two-dimensional mesh structure. The material has the following core properties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Ultra High Hardness<\/strong>: Mohs hardness of 9, after diamond (10), cubic boron nitride (9.8) and silicon carbide (9.5), room temperature microhardness of 2500~3300 kgf\/mm\u00b2, 600 \u2103 still maintain the hardness level of Hv800;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Excellent electrical conductivity<\/strong>: The resistivity is similar to that of metallic iron and platinum, and has a positive temperature coefficient characteristic and better conductivity than metallic titanium;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
